The Empty Quarter is the largest sand sea on earth and comprises the entire center of the Arabian Peninsula. The temperature was well above 100 degrees by 8 am, so it limited our day's activity. Fred and our son Damon hiked several dunes, while Linda retreated to the air conditioned car to wait. Damon commented it was the worst "sand trap" he was ever in!
